Historical Battle & Feast

26-June-2018 | Drouin

In the final week of Term 2, as the culmination of the History units for the semester, students in Years 7 and 8 at the Drouin Campus went back in time as their class kingdoms battled for supremacy on the oval.

After several tough bouts of hand-to-hand combat, artillery warfare and storming the castle with bows and arrows (all done in full medieval dress), the BATS class was declared victorious. The warriors were knighted and granted special privileges at the Medieval feast that followed.

At the feast, there was much food and entertainment with medieval dance, games and musical items. The upper classes feasted on roast chicken, gravy, vegetables and apple pie, while the poor peasants made do with bread, cheese and fruit.
