Chairo Kinder

Kinder at Chairo is such a well-prepared environment with an array of fine and gross motor activities available. Staff members are friendly, highly educated and willing to meet your child where they are currently at in terms of their development. Tanya Nel (Chairo Kinder Mum)

At Chairo, we are pleased to operate excellent kindergartens at our Drouin East, Leongatha, Traralgon and Pakenham campuses. Our motto of ‘learning that lasts a lifetime’ is the platform for learning throughout Chairo, and our kindergartens are an essential part of that. Laying a foundation for learning is certainly the basis of all that we do at Chairo Kinder.

It is our aim to provide an environment in which the children are able to safely and freely experience the world around them through exploration, inquiry and discovery within a Christ-centred framework. The Early Years Learning Framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming. At Chairo, we aim to help individual children develop in each of these three important areas.

Due to high demand for places in both pre-Kinder (K3) and Kinder (K4) at Chairo, some of our programs are full, or almost full, a year or more in advance. To reduce the risk of disappointment, interested families are encouraged to consider applying as soon as possible.

Pre-Kinder (K3) refers to the year preceding Kinder (K4) and generally children are aged three when they begin. Children turning three between 1 January and 30 April are permitted to begin Pre-Kinder (K3), although they may wait until the year in which they turn four. Note: repeating Pre-Kinder (K3) is no longer an option available to families.

Kinder (K4) refers to the year preceding Prep and generally children turn five in their Kinder year. Note: a second year of Kinder (K4) may be considered when a child shows delays in at least two learning and development outcome areas, and when Kinder (K4) is deemed to be the most appropriate learning program and will result in better outcomes than if the child goes to school.
